A new class of offset plates
for packaging printers
There may be some confusion in the print industry about the difference between
‘chemistry free’ and ‘process free’ plates for offset printing. Both claim to reduce environmental
impact and simplify platemaking, and both are used widely in the industry. However, there are
important differences in the plate technologies, and these differences affect the benefits
that printers see both in prepress and on press.
