Agfa Graphics in South Africa
In the South African market, Agfa Graphics is expanding and strengthening its
direct sales and service infrastructure towards customers in the Newspaper,
Commercial and Wide Format Inkjet market segments. We believe that in the
rapidly changing printing environment we need to be closer to our customers
in order to better understand their needs, and we can only do this by being
more actively involved with the end-users of our products. We see the close
relationships with Heidelberg South Africa, Thunderbolt Solutions, William
Over (Zimbabwe) and Uchumi Quick Suppliers (Kenya) and a direct to market
sales strategy as offering a combination of access to Agfa’s full solution, and
dynamic product portfolio, and the at the same time ensuring the best after
sales support to our valued end-user customers across the southern and
eastern parts of Africa.
The sales team in South Africa includes Butch Lambert (Wide Format Inkjet and
Prepress), Brent Bradbury (Prepress), and Tim Dowd (Newspapers), all of whom
have many years’ experience in their respective industries. Dave Reynolds is
General Manager for the local subsidiary of Agfa and is regionally responsible
for sales and marketing in the territory. We are supported by a team of eight
Agfa factory-trained hardware and software engineers based in Johannesburg,
Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. The technical support engineers are
trained in multiple aspects of our business including CTP (both Newspaper and
commercial engines), Apogee and Arkitex software, and Wide Format Inkjet
products. Area operations are headed up by David Wilson who together with
his team of customer care and supply chain staff ensure that we have the
