Propak West Africa
Tapping the potential
International economic indicators point to the gradual emergence from
the global slump. The major European markets are showing signs of
improvement and North America is seeing a steady turn around. The result
is that these countries are looking for new markets to invest in.
Lagos, Nigeria
W
hile the BRICA markets of Brazil, Russia, India, China and Africa are obvious choices, these
general geographic areas sometimes have their own sets of problems. International investors
have to find the right markets to invest in. Their efforts also need to contribute to the infrastructural
development of the markets they are investing in.
Forecasts predict that West Africa, and in particular Nigeria, is an area which will see exponential and
unprecedented growth. As a market it will rival many of the more developed markets in years to come, both
in terms of size and buying power.
As an emerging market, it will not be bound by the limitations which advanced technologies have placed on
developed markets. As a result, printing will be a major growth market as more and more people achieve increasing
levels of literacy. With the growing literacy will come improved standards of living and greater earning power, which
will act as a driving force for the packaging market.
Packaging and printing will be the focus of Propak West Africa 2014 taking place in Nigeria in September. Propak
will address packaging and all the related industries of printing, food processing, labelling and plastics. Taking
place at the EKO Hotel in Lagos from 2 – 4 September, the Propak West Africa exhibition will offer suppliers and
manufacturers access to one of the fastest growing markets in Africa. In addition to the exhibition, five co-located
seminars will be taking place at the show. Geared at a cross-section of the entire packaging industry, technology
updates and a look at the latest trends and developments driving the West Africa market will be presented. Both
international and local experts will explain how they can assist users in that market to achieve world-class
standards of productivity and quality.
The seminars include Pro-Plas West Africa for the plastics industry, Food processing West Africa, Print Expo West
Africa, Pro-Label West Africa and Digital Print Expo West Africa. The seminars, in their dedicated theatres, will work
hand-in-hand with the Propak exhibition to present a complete overview of the printing and packaging industry.
Both the seminars and the exhibition offer free admission allowing visitors to obtain the maximum benefit from their
visit to the show. Visitors will be able to view and discuss market-leading equipment and technology from global
manufacturers in all sectors. International trends will also be high on the list of discussion topics and will allow
companies in the West African region to determine the direction of their future developments.
