Flexible finishing
The Océ JetStream systems offer an integrated roll-to-roll configuration with a
tight web for precise registration and control. Paper processing options include
a cross perforation device for folding and a punch unit for pin feed holes. Optional
roll slitter and folding units increase the number of finishing options. Integrated
finishing allows for seamless workflow automation for uninterrupted production.
Océ JetStream systems are already in use for direct mail, transaction, transpromo
and other applications. Service bureaux, graphic arts operations, direct mail
houses, offset printers and other commercial and corporate printers can deliver
full-colour, variable data output with exceptional quality at high speeds and
maximum productivity. Customers benefit from lower operating costs, longer
uptime and a wider range of paper options than on comparable products.
Stable front/back registration
A perfect and stable front/back registration is important for the quality
observation of a duplex printed document. This is particularly essential in
book printing. The Océ JetStream family offers an easy-to-use means for
compensating for paper shrinking – commonly a cause of front to back
registration mismatch.
Best-in-class AFP colour workflow
Teamed up with Océ PRISMA, a JetStream workflow offers unique options
to support a smoother migration from pre-printed forms to digital forms. Océ
PRISMA offers the E-Forms option. This option will generate the necessary
digital form, which replaces the pre-printed paper. For a higher efficiency in
job preparations, the Océ powerful AFP preflight tool is offered.
AFP Colour Management Architecture (ACMA)
The Océ JetStream family fully implements the AFP colour management as
defined by the AFP colour consortium. ACMA is an architected resource that is
used to carry all of the colour management information required to render a print
file, document, group of pages or sheets, page or data object with colour fidelity.
As the Océ ACMA implementation is fully compliant, AFP jobs can be easily
imported and printed without the need of adapting the data which could well be
a tedious and time consuming process. Additionally, JetStream complies to the
AFP Consortium (AFPC) IS/3 set which allows customers to significantly cut the
cost and time involved in configuring, installing and operating multi-vendor AFP
systems. The integrated Adobe PDF Print Engine together with Océ PRISMA
production offers a highly reliable productivity in graphics art applications such
as newspaper and book/magazine printing.
Seamless workflow integration
Océ JetStream printers are designed for seamless integration with
industry-standard workflows, as well as for the rigorous demands and data
rates of high-speed full-colour printing. As a result, it is easier to embed new
applications such as variable personalisation and TransPromo documents into
existing workflows. Océ’s Data Integrity assures error-free front to back printing.
Another benefit is the powerful Océ PRISMA workflow, an architected suite
of software tools that ensure effective, reliable workflow management from
prepress to finishing. Moreover, the support from Océ – with software, service
and colour management – is seen by our customers as decisive in accelerating
their migration from black-and-white applications to the world of full-colour.
Kruger concluded, ‘Essentially, the main aim at Océ, both here and around the
world, is to keep our customers producing at optimum levels. With our very high
speed devices we can help them to achieve the volumes that they need, but
through our innovative software solutions we can ensure that they can meet any
eventuality without slowing or interfering with their production processes. The
JetStream 2200 at Bidvest Data will set even more production records in the
years to come.’
