H
ow will this solve the question? You may be surprised to find that more
than half the mail you receive still comes in envelopes, despite the
inroads made by plastic over the years. There are a few reasons for
this. Plastic can only do so much while paper is versatile. Plastic is
not heat-resistant while paper can take quite a lot of punishment. Plastic is
very limited in its printing capabilities while paper is the quintessential
printing substrate.
That said, the process of posting bulk items has seen a strong shift to the use of
plastic, despite its limitations and obvious environmental unfriendliness. Not only
that, but there has also been a strong move to electronic communications away
from printed matter. This has seen a marked reduction in the use of envelopes. In
addition, the local postal system is not seen as being the most reliable and this
has resulted in a number of companies looking for alternatives. All of this has
impacted on envelope manufacture and the result in the local market has been
a dramatic effect on envelope manufacturers.
Envelopes
Out-dated or high-tech?
The answer to this particular conundrum is something which you can easily determine for yourself.
Simply look at the mail which you receive on a daily or weekly basis and sort it into that which
comes in an envelope and that which comes wrapped in plastic.
